Want to visit the northernmost National Park in the US?
The North Cascades National Park Day Tour takes you into the heart of the park to experience its protected wilderness and majestic landscape! Established in 1968, it encompasses 504,781 acres (2,042.78 km2) of pristine mountains, glaciers, valleys, temperate old-growth forest, rivers and lakes.
The 78 mi, 3-hr drive (from Mount Vernon) on the North Cascades Scenic Highway parallels the Skagit Wild & Scenic River System. Along the way, we’ll make these stops so you can see for yourself what makes this park so special:
- North Cascades National Park Visitor Center in Newhalem
- Gorge Creek Falls and Lookout
- Diablo Lake Lookout
- Drive & walk over Diablo Dam
- Easy-Moderate Hike (weather permitting & at the guide’s discretion)
Instead of the hike, you have the option to take a 2-hr boat tour on Diablo Lake Friday-Sunday only (at an additional cost).
Note: This North Cascades National Park Day Tour is weather dependent certain months of the season. Winters with heavy snowfall can cause early road closure and/or delay its reopening. Summer temperatures can soar into the 90s, increasing the possibility of forest fires and heat stroke.
You can track the weather at Diablo, WA to prepare for your Adventure.
