In early Spring, our Wildflower Hikes start at the edge of Salish Sea where entire coastal headlands burst into a palette of colors. Our coastal forest floor also comes alive with lilies and orchids. Throughout April, our Skagit Valley daffodils and tulips are blooming as well, and a visit to the fields and the two tulip gardens is part of the tour.
In late Spring and throughout Summer, hike among mountain forest giants, along trickling streams, around tranquil lakes or up mountain sides to explore the variety of flowers growing in their favorite habitat.
Later in Summer, venture up high to the expansive sub-alpine and alpine meadows.filled with wildflowers and the buzzing concerto of pollinators.
Our Wildflower Hikes take you onto well-maintained trails around Fidalgo Island, Mt Baker and the North Cascade Mountains. All are dirt trails, with varying degrees of muddiness, rockiness and rootiness that accommodate all hiking levels. Sturdy waterproof hiking boots and gear is highly recommended.
All trails are within a 90 mi radius and a 2.5 hr drive. Some trailheads are quickly accessed from the road while others are reached via longer, potholed forest service roads. Time of year, road conditions, unforeseen environmental conditions & weather forecasts dictate trail options.
Easy Trails: little elevation gain (150-500 ft) and 1-4 mi round trip.
Moderate Trails: higher elevation gain (1000-1500 ft) and 4-6 mi round trip.
For our detailed description of trails click on Mount Baker Guided Day Hikes and North Cascades Guided Day Hikes. Please contact us for more information on choosing a trail that accommodates your hiking level.
Note: The first booking will set the trail option for the day. For a different level trail, book on an alternate day. Please inquire prior to booking.
“Stephanie was a wonderfully knowledgeable guide. I appreciate the effort taken to find a hike that would deliver the experience we wanted as well her incredible knowledge of the plants on the trail. Would recommend Skagit Guided Adventures to both locals and visitors!” Sweta, Seattle
