Once again, Mother Nature gifted us perfect weather and awesome bird sightings on our Anacortes Puffin Cruise to Smith & James Islands, all while taking in breathtaking views of the San Juan Islands, the Olympic Mountains, and the North Cascades! At Smith Island, we came upon Tufted Puffins hanging out with their cousins, the Rhinoceros Auklets. Eagles, gulls, pigeon guillemots, cormorants, and harbor seals were plentiful too!Over on James Island, forest birds, oystercatchers, and some very chatty, actively-feeding kingfishers kept us entertained.
