SKAGIT BIRDING TOURS
Skagit Birding Tours take you around Skagit Valley’s farm fields and the Fir Island Farm Snow Goose Reserve in search of the thousands of snow geese & smaller flocks of tundra and trumpeter swans. They move from field to field throughout the day and from day to day. Many species of raptors hunt the fields for small rodents and birds.
Padilla Bay hosts many species of waterfowl, shorebirds and great blue herons. Fidalgo Island, at the edge of the Salish Sea, is ideal to look for sea birds and sea ducks.
Ever been to a heronry? Two large and important heron nesting grounds (in the western US) are located right here! Learn why.
Be prepared to listen to the cackling cacophony of the highly gregarious geese, the honking of the swans, the unmistakable bald eagle call and the peeping of the shorebirds. Watching the birds’ feeding behaviors is always entertaining and fascinating.
Stunning backdrops of farm fields, historical barns, mountains, islands and the Salish Sea are excellent to frame your photos with!
Warm clothing (including gloves and hat) and rain gear are highly recommended during our crisp and sometimes wet winter days.
